ENDOCRINOLOGY

The Division of Endocrinology is devoted to treating children with hormonal and glandular problems. Our group practice is based in two excellent medical school affiliated teaching hospitals, and offers the most modern diagnostic and treatment protocols for children and adolescents with a variety of hormone dysfunctions including:
  • Disorders of growth and puberty
  • Diabetes mellitus
  • Thyroid diseases (the Division is an approved Center for the New York State Congenital Hypothyroidism screening program)
  • Adrenal disorders
  • Pituitary disorders
  • Ambiguous genitalia
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Hirsutism
  • Disorders of bone and calcium/phosphorus metabolism
  • Endocrine tumors

The pediatric endocrinology staff physicians provide both in-patient and office consultations as well as on-going care for children with chronic problems. In addition to general pediatric endocrinology the division has three special centers:

  1. Program for Childhood Diabetes/Pediatric Diabetes Education Center
  2. Growth Program
  3. Newborn Endocrine Screening Center
