Comprehensive Sickle Cell Program
The mission if the Comprehensive Sickle Cell Program is to provide individualized, preventive medical and psychological care to children with sickle cell disease from birth to 21 years of age. Education and counseling are an integral part of each clinic visit. Special services available for our patients are:
- Urgent care management of fever, painful episodes or other
emergencies
- Pain management team
- Chronic transfusion services
- Stem cell transplantation
- New born screening and genetic counseling
- Summer camp program
