GRAND ROUNDS

Pediatric Grand Rounds

Grand Rounds are ongoing weekly educational programs on various topics of importance in practice.  They include presentations of current and clinical material of diagnostic and therapeutic challenge and interest.  One hour of Category 1 credit will be awarded for each hour of attendance.

Educational Goals and Objectives

The goal of Pediatric Grand Rounds is to bring to the practicing pediatricians and house staff, periodic updates on new developments in General Pediatrics as well as its major subspecialties.

  • At the conclusion of Grand Rounds, participants should be able to:
  • Understand and appropriately utilize the Children’s Health Network.
  • Incorporate preventive therapies and immunizations for common childhood illnesses.
  • Treat common office emergencies.
  • Diagnosis, management and treat common chronic illness, such as asthma, obesity, diabetes and gastrointestinal diseases.
  • Recognized the current epidemiology of illness in the community as reflected by the patient population of the Children’s Health Network.
Accreditation

North Shore-Long Island Jewish Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.

Category 1 Credit

North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System designates this continuing medical education activity for a maximum of 1 credit hour per session in Category 1 of Physician’s Recognition Award of the American Medical Association.  Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the education activity.
