The
Schneider Childrens Hospital Department of Patient Care Services
is comprised of Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse
Specialists, Infection Control Nurses, Nurse Assistants, Patient Care
Associates, Nursing Case Management, Social Workers, Unit Service Clerks,
Unit Receptionists, Mental Health Workers, Psychiatric Aides, Unit Service
Assistants, and Phlebotomy Technicians, who collectively with the medical
team provide premier care to our patients. Nurses and support staff
care for more than 9,000 pediatric in-patient discharges annually in
more than 8 subspecialty units. Additionally they are paramount in the
provision of care in more than 30 outpatient and pediatric specialty
clinics, including community consultation centers, an urgent care facility
and NYC public schools. Collaboratively with System EMS and SCH Medical
Director, highly trained nursing staff coordinate and care for close
to 3,000 patients being transported from area hospitals.
With
close to 50% of our nurses certified by nationally accredited agencies
we offer evidence-based clinical excellence paired with teamwork to
offer our patients the best possible pediatric care in the region.
