The nurses at Schneider Children's Hospital treat every day as a journey of healing with hope and compassion. Our dedicated staff participates in the care management and educates the patients and their families, to help achieve health and wellness across the continuum of care. We are committed to ensure our children and their families feel as comfortable and as safe as possible during their stay at Schneider Children's Hospital.

The Schneider Children’s Hospital Department of Patient Care Services is comprised of Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Infection Control Nurses, Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Associates, Nursing Case Management, Social Workers, Unit Service Clerks, Unit Receptionists, Mental Health Workers, Psychiatric Aides, Unit Service Assistants, and Phlebotomy Technicians, who collectively with the medical team provide premier care to our patients. Nurses and support staff care for more than 9,000 pediatric in-patient discharges annually in more than 8 subspecialty units. Additionally they are paramount in the provision of care in more than 30 outpatient and pediatric specialty clinics, including community consultation centers, an urgent care facility and NYC public schools. Collaboratively with System EMS and SCH Medical Director, highly trained nursing staff coordinate and care for close to 3,000 patients being transported from area hospitals.

With close to 50% of our nurses certified by nationally accredited agencies we offer evidence-based clinical excellence paired with teamwork to offer our patients the best possible pediatric care in the region.
