CENTER FOR HOPE

HOW YOU CAN HELP US

The Center for H.O.P.E. at Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center was created to provide a place of healing and hope where children, adolescents and their families can come together in their journey of grief.

The Center for H.O.P.E. offers programs intended to meet the needs of the entire family through developmentally age-appropriate groups and short-term individual counseling. Children between the ages of 4 and 18 have an opportunity to participate in ongoing support groups with their peers where they can share their grief and sorrow. While these children meet in their groups, their parents/caretakers also come together to share their own feelings of pain and loss and learn how they can empower themselves as well as their children. We also offer an annual camp, usually held in September. In addition, we offer an eight week program to parents who are struggling to cope after the devastating loss of a child.

All of these services are provided free of charge, so that grieving children/teens and their families can benefit from this valuable program.

Our ability to continue to offer the bereavement groups as well as our annual camp are dependent upon support from foundations, companies as well as individuals and families.
